What are the main requirements for submitting an entry?

All startups that are not older than 5 years and that have developed a solution for the city of the future can apply. There must be at least a minimum viable product (MVP)

How do I submit an entry?

All participants are supposed to apply online via our submission form.

Note: The form can be saved online to be filled out successively. Since we cannot guarantee successful saving due to individual browser settings, we recommend temporarily saving longer texts in a separate document.

How long does it take to fill out the form and what info do I need?

The submission form consists of 37 questions ranging from basic business information over competition and team to impact. It might be useful to have your pitch deck and company logo at hand.

Is there a submission fee?

Participation in the Future Hamburg Award is free of charge.

What are the judging criteria?

The jury evaluates the startups according to the following criteria:

  1. Product & Innovation Level
  2. Market potential
  3. Competition
  4. Business
  5. Funding
  6. Experience
  7. Impact
  8. Presentation

How will the winners be selected?

After the submission deadline, the jury reviews all submissions and determines a short list of ten nominees. The nominees will be announced in the beginning of April 2021. After the jury session in April the winner team will be announced in May 2021.
