About Shortcut Ventures

Dirk Freise studied Business in Hamburg and Berkeley. He founded his first business handy.de together with two fellow students, which quickly became the European market-leader for Mobile entertainment and was shortly thereafter bought by Bertelsmann. His second company, mobile discounter blau.de was also successfully sold to KPN after three years. Since 2012, Dirk, together with his long-time partner, has been managing Shortcut Ventures, a venture capital fund that invested in tado° and SumUp among others. Dirk also acts as a Business Angel for entrepreneurs.
