About Fehrmann GmbH
The story of Fehrmann goes back to a foundry, which was founded by Captain Nicolai Petersen Fehrmann and his son in the Hamburg freeport. That was in 1895. The company quickly became a specialist in water-tight ship windows with an international reputation. In 2012, a competence center was established for the development of high-performance aluminum alloys. In 2018, the development of the first corrosion-resistant, high-performance aluminum alloy for 3D printing began.
Henning Fehrmann studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Rostock. He studied Business Administration at the University of California, Berkley. Fehrmann has been managing director of Fehrmann GmbH in Hamburg since 2004. He is also managing director of YNICON GmbH, deputy vice-chairman of Die Familienunternehmer e.V. in Hamburg, chairman of the Innovation Advisory Committee of DESY, spokesman for the 3D printing network Hamburg and member of the advisory board at the Center for High Performance Materials in Hamburg.
