Social Impact Labs are working all over Germany to ensure socially responsible entrepreneurs are supported during the founding-phase. „Today we can look back at 400 startups that we have assisted on their way to success. It’s always been our aim to strengthen sustainability and future viability”, says Petra Zupanic, Community Host & Events, Hamburg Social Impact Lab.

The city’s innovation lab is co-working space, event venue, and home at once. The “Jungstarter” (young starters) programme targets entrepreneurs under 31 that are trying to start a business out of unemployment. During a six to nine-month scholarship participant get access to a co-working space, receive professional guidance and coachings.

Social founders can take part in the programme “Ankommer” (arrivals). The programme supports projects that ensure refugees’ participation in Germany. Meanwhile, “Concept Check” helps entrepreneurs by testing the viability of their ideas together with experts. Subsequently, startups receive specific advice on how to improve their applications for competitions, funds etc..
